Eritrea Taking Part in Cairo International Book Fair

The Eritrean embassy in Cairo in collaboration with the Eritrean Center for Strategic Studies are participating at the 46th Cairo International Book Fair

ERITREA is taking part at the 46th Cairo International Book Fair by presenting over 100 historical, political, cultural and literary subject books.

The Fair that was opened on January 28 by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahleb is expected to run  through February 12.

There are over 26 countries participating at this year’s Book Fair in Cairo to make their books and other printed materials known to the Egyptian People, who are among the largest per capita Book purchasers in the world.

The Eritrean delegation was lead by Ambassador Fassil G. Selassie and Dr. Ahamed Hassen Dehalli, director of the Eritrean Center for Strategic Studies.

During the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahleb appreciates Eritrea’s participation in the fair and received, on behalf, a souvenir of the Eritrean Emblem presented to President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi.

On February 3rd, the Cairo International Book Fair also hosted a forum on the future of the Eritrean-Egyptian relation and the opportunity ahead of them in the political and economic arena. Dr. Ahmed Dehalli was one of the main speakers.

In the course of the seminar, Dr. Ahmed gave briefings on various topics regarding, among others, Eritrea’s stance on regional and international issues, the Eritrean people’s resistance against external conspiracies and the illegal sanctions resolution.

The Cairo International Book Fair is the largest and oldest yearly cultural event in the Middle East.
